Hinge SUCKS It has been mine for about a year so I have experience with it. Hinge is hare to put together and comes apart too easily after time. Thumb bolts unscrew with the natural vibration. Screw replacements are hard to find. That said I would buy it again.

Windshield fits perfectly. The plastic hinge is hard to install but with patience it can be done. I laid large windshield section on flat surface and used rubber mallet to slide it on by tapping hinge. Once that is installed I tap the smaller section onto the hinge. You do need someone to hold the windshield while you tap in hing in place. I did use soapy water as a lubricant to help slide into hinge. Hope this helps as I couldn't find anything on how to install the hinge correctly

Very hard to put together & keep together. I tried towing it with it on & it came apart. Very bad design. I do not want to have to take the windshield off & risk scratching it to haul it. Also wish the bottom part would flip up & stay up for ventilation. I wish I had bought something else. Hinge is a piece of junk.

Directions said you need 2 people to install. I did it all by myself in the rain. Two would have been great. Four would have been just about right. Maybe five. Great product. Then I bought a Kawasaki roof. The windshield and roof brackets lined up perfectly. Had to re drill the holes for the windshield brackets to move them. .Too bad manufacturers don't get together when they design these things. It was actually easy to do. Except for tapping the pieces together; I never really got them all the way together even with a rather large rubber mallet and whaling the heck out of them. The windshield? Great product.

Tough lexan windshield at a reasonable price. The only downside is the plastic hinge. It is hard to get on but comes off very easy when you operate the lower flip up section. It would be nice to have a way to keep the lower half stowed up to get wind flow during the summer. Additionally a stiffener across the windshield at the hinge point seems to be needed.

Glass seems to be of high quality but I mostly agree with Mr. Weber in that the hinge makes this sale a no fly. The hinge is a mis-match between the 1/4" windshield and the 3/16" thick flip-up, as the hinge is sized for a 3/16" to 3/16" match. I assume previous buyers who had no issue must have received a different hinge, or perhaps they received a 3/16" windshield because this doesn't fit. In fact, the hinge split apart when I forced it down onto the 1/4" windshield, although it fit well on the flip-up.

This is the worst product and the worst (lack of) directions I have ever experienced. There is NO reason for starters that the hinge could not be installed at the factory other than that they know it is a pain in the ass. The extent of the directions for the hinge install is "this will be difficult" truth is, so far "impossible" I have been working on this for hours and I have a nice shop with plenty of good tools. when you get one side of the hinge beat into place and start the other, the first falls out. I have done this 6 times and it still is not in. It has been clamped down, pressed, rubber malleted, cussed at, done and undone. this product is crap...pure and simple. There is no way the "fast and easy to install" is not a fake review. These people have a long road to convince me they are not a total scam....stay away. If the hinge was so easy, as the reviews suggest, why do they not send it assembled? ....exactly. for your own good, please do not discount this review as the 2% crazy review...it really will be your nightmare next.

Ordered it on Monday, received it on Thursday. Easy install. Key is the rubber hammer, Laid the hinge across the top of the windshield and tapped it on with the rubber hammer. Didn't use soap, however it might have gone on a little easier, but it was easy enough without the soap. Doubt if you could do it without the hammer either way. Am well pleased with the quality.

As others said the instructions were pretty pitiful. That said, it was very evident how it went together. Have been real pleased with the quality. I made one change for summer, took the hold down bolts out of the flip up put 1/4" bolts on slipped vacuum caps on and tied the bottom up. Even at slow speeds you get good air flow, and keeps the wind and sand out of my eyes. The only thing I would, change is make the bottom portion out of Lexan also. JWO

Pluses: Mounting brackets well designed and constructed, simple to install. Windshield protected against damage and scratches for shipping and installation. Fabrication of the windshield had finished edges and good dimensional fit. Minuses: The plastic hinge between the top and bottom pieces is near impossible for two people to install. The instructions are to slide it together, using soapy water, a rubber mallet, and the help of a friend.. It does not say if it should be installed on the top first, or the bottom first or simultaneously on both pieces. The instructions do not say if there is one side that will fit 1/4 inch piece or the 3/16 inch piece or if it even matters. Overall, I really like it. When (if) the hinge fails, there will be something better on the market.
