Hard Cab on Pioneeer 1000, December 22, 2020

I wanted a hard cab for two reasons. During the winter for warmth and to keep dust out of the cab area. On those two accounts the DFK hard cab has met my needs. It is relatively easy to install, seals the cab fairly well. I did not buy a heater and so far with the cab I have not needed one. But I have not been out in below zero degree weather yet. The visibility with the cab on is awesome. You have the steel tube frame but the rest is either glass or polycarbonate so your ability to see the terrain and whats around you reminds me of my ATV days. Will see how it does in the summer with the doors off as far as dust in the cab. The doors are easy to remove. My only issue so far is the windshield clamp system seem a bit weak. I would prefer something more robust but it has worked so far so maybe my concern is unfounded. The doors have a good locking mechanism but it seems to me someone with intent and a bit of force could easily just raise the windshield to gain access to whatever was in the cab. I have not noticed the cab changing the center of gravity creating more of a rollover hazard. That was one of my concerns before purchase. It adds about 300 pounds to the Pioneer. So far, with only 160 miles on the cab it is all good.
