The DHT XL axle uses dual heat treatments on the housing to improve toughness against shock loads without compromising the bearing surfaces. Oversized CV joint housings provide additional strength, while the housing and axle bars are constructed from durable 4340 Chromoly steel.

Puncture-resistant boots made from premium-grade Thermoplastic Polyester Elastomer are designed to remain durable in both high- and low-temperature environments. Low-profile, double-wrap boot bands help keep the boots securely in place during demanding rides. The axle components are filled with high-temperature, low-friction, long-life polyurea CV joint axle grease, helping keep the axle joints cooler for reliable performance.
