Applicability: 2016-23 Yamaha YXZ1000R and YXZ1000R SS
Taking your Yamaha YXZ 1000 out on the trail is exciting and a lot of fun but if you are going to do it safely factory seat belts are not really the best way to go. Adding a 4 or 5 point harness is the safer and much more comfortable choice. The crossbar on the YXZ is way too high to mount your harness correctly so Dragonfire Racing came up with a solution to solve that problem.
Their Harness Anchor Kit mounts securely to the frame of the vehicle and places the mounting tabs lower, allowing the straps to pull straight down. The DFR Harness Anchor Kit includes 2 anchors and 4 tabs along with all the hardware you will need for installation. This kit will outfit both the driver and passenger seat. There is no cutting or welding required and the parts are powder coated for long lasting wear. These seat anchors are the perfect addition to your harness upgrade for the most comfort and safety. Dragon fire was very helpful with this. I received a personal call and they emailed documents to support their design. The mounts are designed for their seat belts (which have a proper length for this kit). Due to the number of seat belts available they cannot predict which ones will fit properly. I stand corrected about the design but ultimately choose to go with a different mount kit and keep the belts I have. I had mounted one seat kit during this process and found the kit easy to install and well made.

The problem lies in the seatbelt length when using this kit. The belts I purchased were to short to properly go around the bar and fasten. (PRP 5 point/ I think they gave more than a reasonable length ) The mounts fit fine. The idea ultimately has to be questioned. I now realize the factory seat belt bar is at the same height in the 1000 RZR. I ride in one of them and feel safe- mount is maybe 2" above my shoulder. I would suggest spending more on belts and less here.
