What are portal gear lifts

Polaris General Portals are an upgrade that not only lifts the machine, but also provides a 60 percent gear reduction. Lower gears significantly improve torque performance which is excellent for extreme mudding, towing, hauling, and other ride conditions. The kit includes a gear box, gasket, seal, a backing plate, rotors, and gears.

Benefits of a dual idler

Dual idler portals minimalize performance stress by doubling the teeth on the gear sets. It disperses weight more efficiently, ultimately providing better torque capacity. Additionally, the 60 percent gearing ability prolongs brake performance life because the portals upgrade engine breaking.

Polaris RZR portals provide a true 8-inch lift but is different than a standard sxs lift kit. Portal gear lifts are not brackets or suspension lifts. Instead, they provide the gains at the hub which is much easier to install and doesn't require re-articulating the CV joints and other suspension parts.
